Sheehy Subaru of Springfield Recognizes FHI’s 60th Anniversary

Happy birthday to our parents! Well, Subaru’s parents. Sorry, Mom and Dad.

June 15th marked the 60th anniversary of Subaru’s parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries. Originally an aircraft company, FHI flew Japan’s first jet-powered trainer in 1958 and released the iconic Subaru 360 minicar that same year.

Autoblog has more information, as well as an awesome gallery of Subaru’s most famous vehicles as we remember the anniversary of the company that started it all. At Sheehy Subaru of Springfield, we're proud of Subaru's past--and even more excited about its future.
